Procedure for Partnering Institutions

There are two-three forms to be filled by the African institution expressing interest to participate.

Institutional Participation Form (IPF)

Declares institutional engagement of the University to participate in DIANA ry programmes. This form is signed exclusively by Principal Officers (Vice-Chancellor, Rectors, Deputy Vice-Chancellor).

Application for Diaspora Expert (ADE)

Application for specific expertise. Filled by academics or units needing expertise. Provides information about the specific applicant, reasons for the expertise, and gaps to be filled.

Hospitality & Infrastructure Form

An engagement to accompany the diaspora expert academically and socially. Includes commitment to mobilizing students, ensuring implementation, providing office spaces, and facilitating activities.

Membership Benefits

Institutional members who have signed the IPF have right to several benefits such as joining the mailing list, information sharing, networking, and participating in annual forums of DIANA ry members.

Fellows

Become a DIANA ry Fellow

Participants in DIANA ry's Professional Mobility Programmes to Africa are called "Fellows" or "Scholars" named ex-post after their first teaching experience. They become fellows after a rigorous selection process.

A fellow is an expert of African descent resident outside the African continent (Europe, USA, Canada, South America and Asia) who has been selected and participated in teaching and/or research activities under a Europe-Africa Professional Mobility Programme.

Fellow Activities

Support teaching in African universities through distance and contact methods

Engage in joint research collaboration in African universities and research centres

Steer and supervise research and training activities

Steer and support outreach and capacity building activities of host institutions

Process

Selection & Placement Process

Repository

Experts upload CVs and manifest interest year-round on the website.

Semester Selection

Two rounds of broad selection and planned placements annually, every June and December.

Adhoc

Based on expressed need by African Universities at any time and availability of expertise.

Call

Reminder calls every March (June deadline) and September for institutions and fellows to manifest interest.

Declaration of Interest Form

A short bio (max 15 lines) and declaration of interest statement. Declare specialisations, activities, availability, and capacity for distant and contact activity.

CV Upload

Upload your CV emphasizing degrees, specialisations, languages, work experience, research activities, grants, teaching experience, and relevant skills.

Fellow Engagement Form

Formal commitment to participate in DIANA ry's programmes and activities.
